About

I, Katherine, am a Christian, a wife and a retail employee.  I have been active in various church communities since childhood, often working with the children.   I love writing, but also play the piano, enjoy both cross stitch and scrap booking (traditional, but I’m learning digital) and enjoy detailing the family histories of myself and my husband.  I drink a lot of coffee, but enjoy my collection of teacups, many of whom I got from my mother.  I seek to walk more closely with my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

My blog is called “the 15th day” because I wanted to write monthly about the focus scripture chosen by the pastors of a church I was connected with.  I can procrastinate on projects, so choose the 15th day as my publication date, to give myself a deadline.  (I have not always met my deadline!!)   I may be publishing more often than once a month, so now call my blog “the 15th day — and more”.

I earned a journalism diploma in the 1980’s and worked as a journalist for three years.  I earned a Bachelor of Religious Education (honors) in 1996.  Writing has been part of my life for a long time.   I started writing poetry and stories as a child, submitting them to a young people’s page in a farm newspaper.  My pen name was Whispering Wind.
